Milken Exchange on Education Technology:

This electronic exchange contains information about the Milken Family Foundation's goals and ideas regarding educational technology. The areas of emphasis are Public Awareness, Public Policy, Teaching and Learning, Building Capacity, and Research and Practice. There are links to a variety of resources.

ITEA:

The International Technology Education Association's mission includes advancing technological capabilities for all people and improving public understanding of technology education and its contributions.

ISTE:

The International Society for Technology in Education is the largest teacher-based non-profit organization in the field of educational technology. Downloadble PDF file of their standards for students available at the site.

FREE:

Federal Resources for Educational Excellence is a working group formed by 300 Federal agencies to make federally supported education resources available at a single web site.

PBS Online: 

The Public Broadcasting System's home page. Find out what's going on on your public TV channel with links to features like A Science Odyssey. You can check out specific content in areas like science and history. My favorite feature is a scroll and click search list of PBS resources online. There's other neat stuff. too.

Grazing the 'Net:

Grazing the Net: Raising a Generation of Free Range Students isthe text of an article in the Phi Delta Kappan of September, 1998. The theme of the article is the value of raising young people to think, explore and make meaning for themselves.

CRITO:

This site sponsored by Pacific Bell Fellows contains links to "blue ribbon" learning sites on the web. You can use their search engine, browse a table of contents and make suggestions for inclusions.

New Tools:

The New Tools For Education site is maintained by a professor at the University of Pennsylvania in order to share his views and ideas on the use of the internet in education. There are links to other educator's ideas, too, and answers to questions all of of us are asking as we begin our journey into teaching with the tools of the electronic information age.

EDC/CCT:

Telementoring Young Women in Science, Engineering and Computing is a National Science Foundation funded project designed to provide young women with sustained support from and communication with female professionals. Archived site, no longer active.

HP E-mail Mentor Program:

Mentors work with individual students on teacher-assigned projects that integrate the mentoring program into the school's curriculum & are designed to meet student needs. As of June 1998: http://www.telementor.org.

Creative Learning Exchange:

The CLE encourages discovery as the essence of the learning process, and advocates for implementation of systems education through learner-centered learning. Register to receive information from them.

iSee Systems:

iSee Systems is the company that produces the STELLA modeling software used in many systems thinking and systems dynamics programs.

Maryland Virtual High School:

Systems thinking and modeling figure greatly in this Maryland site. Check out their Core Models program as an example of systems learning in their school.

MIT Systems Dynamics Group:
