The Willys part number on the right side of the engine block. This engine was rebuilt at the Karlsfeld Ordnance Depot in 1950. When the jeep was rebuilt at Esslingen in 1953 the origional GPW engine was replaced with this one.

Visible just above the part number is a square projection with a bolt in it. This is one of the mounting points for the generator bracket. The line to the fuel pump is also visible with the flexible portion still attached.
